Rawlings Gamer ContoUR 10.5" Youth Baseball Glove: G105U-2B
Respect all & fear none with the Rawlings Gamer Contour 10.5" Youth Baseball Glove!
Glove Benefits
This Rawlings Gamer 10.50" Youth Glove is designed for smaller or younger players that have a bit of baseball playing experience under their belt.
Rawlings Gamer gloves will feature leather material that is on par with what you'll find on GG Elite gloves or R9 gloves that are available on the baseball market. If you have a young player that has been wanting a bonafide glove, then definitely consider this Gamer. It has been made with a 10.50-inch length and an I-Web that would work best in the infield, but can get the job done all over a youth ballfield.
As well, this Rawlings Gamer will be made with a narrow wrist opening and smaller hand insert for the more advanced, younger player!

Perfect for 8 year old Rene Parent
Pros: My 8 year old loves this glove. I got him a custom 44 for his bday that was a little too big for him but he figured it out. This glove is excellent for the infield at his age. A little bit of mallet work and some catch. It is really broken in and he is making plays left and right.
Cons: Occasionally catches it with his palm and he says it hurts him. A little more cushion in the palm would be nice.
High quality! Jordan Parent
Pros: The leather is high quality and seems like it will hold up for a few years. I bought it for my 6.5 year old and plan to let him use it until about 8-9.
Cons: None
Glove Rick Parent
Pros: Great glove perfect for smaller kids. Leather looks and feels good should last few years
Cons: None
Best youth glove out there. Colt Parent
Pros: High quality leather. Holds its shape. Easy to break in and in game use quickly. My son has been noticeably more confident with this glove and that translates to better play.
Cons: Not many. It's a higher priced youth glove but it's worth it, if you're able.
Perfect for young ball players Larry Turkette Coach
Pros: Incredible look to this glove. Well made. Perfect size for my 7 year old grandson. Also I’ve researched several gloves. This was the overall best. Price was just an extra pro.
Cons: Need to condition it a couple times to get it broken in. But don’t really see it a con. Just part of getting a quality glove.
Great glove. Seriously Josh Coach
Pros: A legit leather glove for a youth player. I’m such a fan of this glove. Our 7U(currently 6) uses this glove and it’s made a big difference in performance. Teeball gloves were basically a waste of money. This is worth the higher price tag. Get it early and it will be their glove for years of play. Highly recommended
Cons: Absolutely none
It's called a gamer cuz it a Gamer! Geri V. Coach
Pros: Loved this glove! My kid made so many great catches with is glove. The quality is close to the a2k status. Break in was great! And can't say enough in how the leather was super sweet.
Cons: They don't have them in bigger sizes. But for my 8 year old will last human. Few years. Definitely a super solid starter glove for 8yo mostly for Infield for sure.
Very Nice Cooper's Dad Coach
Pros: Just picking it up, the glove feels like a high quality adult glove just smaller. This was delivered before our 2nd practice and with the glove prep service, he could play catch as it was unboxed. It has since broken in nicely and he has played 2 games and 4 weeks of practice with playing catch on days he doesn't have practice. This glove broke in easier than my 10 year old daughter's R9 but a softball isn't thrown as hard so that may not be an apple to apple comparison but it does seem softer than the youth model R9 I handled locally. This glove is soft but not flimsy and seems to work really well for a fixing to be 8 year old playing middle infield. Also, it's given him a sense of pride as after every game or practice he wipes the dirt off and makes sure it's clean before being put away. His fingers are long enough to use the finger pad (which makes him feel like a pro) and he's already getting an indention where his index finger rest like my 30 year old glove.
Cons: He'll out grow this one in a few years and I'll have to buy another glove.
Can be used as trainer for older kids. Matthew Parent
Pros: We bought this glove as a trainer for my smaller statue fourteen Year old. It works greand the quality is really good. He will be able to use this for practice.Possibly throughout his whole high school career
Cons: No cons that I can find
Great quality Parent
Pros: It’s really nice like a R9. I got it for my 5 year old who is now in coach pitch. He currently plays the sure catch 10.5” model. The gamer seems to have better structure and should be easier for him to get grounders and actually catch the ball.
Cons: Maybe price but you get what you pay for
Father and Assistant Coach J Martinez Coach
Pros: Great quality glove! Good Leather. My son is a 6 year old playing his last season in T-ball moving up to coaches pitch. We had been looking for a better glove that was a level up with out breaking the bank. My son is advanced for his age and already has been catching before we got this glove. His previous glove was getting too flimsy and not sturdy enough to handle some of the catches with a hard ball. I went ahead and got him this glove and now he's catching like a pro. lol. Happy dad! My son loves it.
Cons: No Cons.
Best Youth Glove!! Andrew Clark Parent
Pros: Size is perfect for 8 year old son who is smaller than others his age. Highest quality youth glove available at a good price. Glove will be used for at least 2 more years. He’s playing year round. Very easy to break in. He used it after one week.
Cons: No padding under palm. I realize there isn’t in gloves, but he complained a couple times after catching a couple on the hand.
Excellent Glove for Youth Players Justin Duffy Parent
Pros: If you are looking for a durable glove at an affordable price then this is the right choice. My son has used this glove for several months now with no complaints. I appreciate the Trap-Ezra web which is excellent for youth players. I believe that my son will be able to use this glove for years to come.
Cons: None at this time
Excellent quality glove Tucker Perkins Parent
Pros: Durability is top notch as my 8 year old son has broke in the glove and uses it almost everyday while still looking brand new. He should be able to use this glove for a few more years with no hesitation. A great youth glove for the price!
Cons: None
Quality Youth Glove Cards Coach Coach
Pros: I have both the 10" and 10.5" model of this glove for my 8 year old son. It's a quality glove with nice leather. The smaller finger stalls fit his hand perfectly. He's used it for two full seasons now and it is still in great shape. The pocket broke in nicely so it is easy for him to close but the rest of the glove has retained its form and stiffness like a quality glove should. I expect this glove to last him a few more seasons until he is ready to move up to an 11". This glove is ideal for someone in the 7-10 year old age range or even middle infielders in the 11-12 year old range. I have recommended it for several other players on the teams I coach. This is a legitimate youth glove that will last more than one season at a solid price point.
Cons: None at this point.
Excellent quality Mike M Parent
Pros: Ease of ordering Speed of delivery Quality of item Instructions with breaking in glove
Cons: None

About the Brand

Rawlings is a major manufacturer of competitive team sports equipment and apparel for baseball, basketball, and football, as well as licensed MLB, NFL, and NCAA retail products. Rawlings is a major supplier to professional, collegiate, interscholastic, and amateur organizations worldwide, including the Official Baseball Supplier to Major League Baseball.
The first real innovation in glove making occurred in 1912 when Rawlings Sporting Goods Company introduced the "Sure Catch" glove, which was "endorsed by leading players all over the country." The Sure Catch was a one-piece glove with sewn-in finger channels and looked better suited for a duck's foot than a man's hand. Catchers' mitts used at the time were large and bulky with a single leather thong passing for a web.
In 1920, Bill Doak, a journeyman pitcher for the St. Louis Cardinals, approached Rawlings with an idea for improving the baseball glove from a mere protective device to a genuine aid in fielding. The "Bill Doak" model was so revolutionary that it stayed in Rawlings' line until 1953. Its key feature was a multi-thong web laced into the first finger and thumb, which created for the first time in baseball's young life, a natural pocket.
In 1925, Rawlings unveiled a three-fingered fielder's glove, and ten years later improved the Bill Doak model with a two-piece leather web. At the same time, the "T" web became a rage for first basemen's mitts. The pocket underwent a pronounced change in 1941 when the Trapper Mitt, also known as the Claw, appeared. The "Deep Well" pocket was so unique that Rawlings quickly patented it. The design was improved in 1950 by adding a leather piece across the top. Another significant creation occurred in 1948 with the three-fingered Playmaker. A five-fingered fielder's model, with all fingers laced together, provided greater pocket control.
The six-fingered Trap-Eze evolved in the 1960's. In more recent years, Rawlings produced the Fastback design, which gives a glove a snugger fit, greater extension, and overall control. The Holdster is a slot through which a finger can be extended for additional protection from impacts on the pocket. Then, there is the Edge-U-Cated Heel with its extended U-shaped lacing and the Pro H Web and much-copied Basket Web.
Some of Rawlings's more recent glove innovations also include the unique Spin-Stopper design which reduces ball spin when the ball hits the glove, and the Cantilever glove design feature that provides a cushioned area between the hand and the glove's palm area. In all, Rawlings has produced and patented more functionally innovative glove features and designs than that of any other glove manufacturer. The result is that the modern baseball glove is much larger, more comfortable, better padded, and made to last far longer than its ancestors. It is not uncommon to see today's Major League players wearing the same Rawlings glove they wore during their college playing days. In fact, Rawlings is the #1 glove in the major leagues. Rawlings maintains about 65 models of baseball and softball mitts and gloves in its line. The prototypes of virtually all of them have been field-tested by professionals before entering a sporting goods dealer's inventory.
