A 12 inch glove is typically recommended for 11, 12 and 13 year olds. If you want a glove he can grow into and possibly use in High School, he could probably get away with using a 12.25 or 12.5 inch glove.

This would be a good first base mitt for you. A 12 inch first base mitt is most common for 12 year olds. A 32 inch catchers mitt is most common for 12 year olds. The Akadema AGC98 and Glovesmith 2200L are a few 32 inch catchers mitts that come to mind.

I would recommend either the Rawlings R115FB or Akadema AHC94. Both of which are 11.5 inch first base mitts better suited for a 7 year old.
