Also, make sure to keep a softball or a few baseballs in the pocket of the glove when it is being stored. This should break-in the glove quickly and properly. This glove model is an 11.50" so I would recommend this glove for primarily Shortstop or Second Base use. It could also be used at Third Base or on the mound if needed. This is the Dustin Pedroia Game Model so it will fit a little tighter around the wrist opening and finger stalls. It will have extra long lacing and a flared shape. The best way to break-in the Wilson A2000 Series: A2000BBDP15GM is too apply a light coat of glove oil. Play a lot of catch to break-in the pocket. We also provide a Glove Care Kit that can be a great help in the glove break-in process. It comes with large rubber bands, oil, a small mallet, an applicator, a ball to help shape the glove, also instructions will be provided.

Both the Rawlings Heart Of The Hide Dual Core Series and the Wilson A2000 Series baseball gloves are excellent choices. When catching the ball in the pocket there shouldn't be any discernible difference the two gloves. The Rawlings Heart Of The Hide Dual Core Series has wool blend padding in the palm which may help dampen the sting when the ball is caught in the palm.

There are a couple differences between the Wilson A2000 Baseball Glove (A20RB15DP15GM) and a SuperSkin model. To start, the A20RB15DP15GM features the Dustin Pedroia fit, which means that it will have a more snug fit than the Superskin glove, which will be sized normally. Also, Superskin material isn't leather--it is very similar to leather and has a lot of the same qualities, but it will actually have a lighter feel on your hand and is 2x stronger than leather as well. The Wilson A2000 1880 model was a 11.00 inch pattern (to our knowledge; hard to know for sure as this glove has been out of circulation for some time now). As for where this glove was manufactured, more than likely this glove was made overseas.

Some gloves may feature a "dog tag" like item that is attached to the glove and would be removed once a player starts using the glove. The glove will still be fine for infield use. The closed web feature is often used for pitcher's gloves so that batters can't see through the webbing to possibly see the grip of the pitch. It should have no effect on infield play.

Unfortunately, there will not be any A2000s that are made like this Wilson A2000 Baseball Glove (A20RB15DP15GM) and will have an 11.5" length, I-Webbing and Left Hand Thrower option. I would not be able to say that there will be an A2000 that really mimics this DP15 for left hand throwers.

I bought my daughter the A2000 and I would put a softball in it and put the band around it to shape it. She fields it fine but struggles with securing the backhand. Her fielding instructor is a former college player who owns many of these gloves, and she said it hasn't shaped properly, causing the issue with the back hand. Is it able to be reshaped? chuck
Past a certain point in their lifespan and after enough use, it is very difficult to "reshape" a glove. We always recommend breaking in gloves by playing catch/wearing them as that provides the best and most natural break-in. The glove will shape to exactly how the players catches and squeezes the glove. Artificial ways such as the ball and rubber band method can help speed up the break-in, but it breaks the glove in an unnatural shape most times.
